From Toronto’s East End to New York’s East Village we take you on an uncensored journey into the closets and behind the alter egos of our communities most beloved queers. Welcome to Closet Case.
This week we visit D’yan Forest, an 81 year old internationally recognized cabaret singer, actress and stand-up comedian. This ‘bisexual Betty White’ has been dazzling audiences for more then seven decades with her one-woman extravaganza and slight-of-mouth comedy.
She’s had stints at glam gigs such as The Waldorf, Saturday Night Live and Comedy Central plus being a regular in Manhattan cabarets; The Metropolitan Room, The Duplex and comedy clubs like Gotham, The Broadway and Dixon Place and even performing at the beloved Buddies In Bad Times Theatre in Toronto.
Her latest critically acclaimed show A Broad Abroad! is co-writen with director Erik Kornfield (Bette Midler’s head writer for the past fourteen years). The show has been well received in festivals and theatres around the US and has been performed in French at Le Paname in Paris.
